Effective September 16, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains what information FindCloseMatch collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you when you use the service.
Information you provide
When you use FindCloseMatch to search for similar products, we process the image you upload and any garment details you provide, such as category, article type, colour or department. You do not currently need an account to use the service.
How we use your information
Your uploaded image is processed to generate a numerical representation that allows FindCloseMatch to compare it with product images in the catalogue. Any garment details you provide are used to refine the search and return more relevant results.
Uploaded images
Uploaded images are processed for the purpose of performing your search. They are not added to the FindCloseMatch product catalogue or used to create a user profile. To preserve a search when you visit a product page, a copy is stored locally in your browser for the current tab and expires after 24 hours. You can remove it sooner by clearing this site's browser data.
Technical information
When you access FindCloseMatch, our hosting infrastructure may process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, request times and response status. This information may be used to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service.
Search feedback
If you mark a result as similar or not similar, FindCloseMatch stores that choice with the result, its rank, a random search identifier and the garment details selected for that search. The uploaded image itself is not stored with this feedback. These records may be used to evaluate and improve ranking quality.
Cookies and analytics
FindCloseMatch currently does not use analytics or advertising cookies. If this changes, this Privacy Policy and, where required, our consent mechanisms will be updated accordingly.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your uploaded images or personal information. FindCloseMatch is hosted by Render Services, Inc., which processes data necessary to deliver and operate the service, including requests made to the application. Our catalogue images are hosted using Cloudflare R2. These service providers may process limited technical information as necessary to provide their services. Uploaded search images are processed by the FindCloseMatch application and are not intentionally stored in our product catalogue or user profiles.
Data retention
Uploaded images are processed temporarily to perform a product search and are not intentionally retained by FindCloseMatch after the request has been processed. We do not currently maintain user accounts or store a history of uploaded search images. Technical and application logs may be retained by our hosting provider for a limited period for security, reliability and troubleshooting purposes.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including rights to access, correct or delete personal information and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise a privacy right, contact us using the details below.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information handled by FindCloseMatch. No method of transmitting or storing information online can provide absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as FindCloseMatch changes. When we make changes, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this page.
